High-res photo currently i am working on a lingusitic research project about yoruba (lucumi) language. for all of you afro-american, africana study buffs, yoruba is a tribe of people from oyo, africa according to aribidesi a. usman, an anthropologist from boston. i am learning that after civil wars yoruba migrated to lagos. where they were captured and taking in large numbers via the transatlantic slave trade. these are pottery sketches (some images did not transfer over). so, if you are looking for your african history, maybe the yoruba could be a place to start.
